A recognized specialist in groundwater simulation, he was the author of several groundwater software packages used worldwide, such as Visual MODFLOW, Flowpath and Airflow / SVE as well as data interpretation and visualization packages such as HydroGeoAnalyst, Visual Poços and SIAGAS Web. Author of several scientific works, 2 chapters of a book and 1 book, he was recipient of the John Helms award in 2000 by National Ground Water Association (NGWA) of the United States, an award given annually to those who most contribute to the advancement in science in the field of groundwater. He managed several projects aimed at Water Resources, distribution and water supply. He has extensive experience in the mining and oil and gas industries as well as in the integrated management of water resources. He is currently President of Water Services and Technologies where he also serves as a project manager.

DANILO ALMEIDA, M.Sc.
Hydrogeologist

Geologist graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He initially worked at Companhia de Saneamento de Minas Gerais (COPASA) in defining sources of water production and leasing tubular wells. He worked as a consultant carrying out mathematical modeling of aquifers, springs registration and lowering water level projects for mining, with a focus on drainage and also on the possible impacts on surface and underground water availability. After a few years he joined Companhia Vale, acting as a hydrogeologist responsible for the lowering of the water level at the Timbopeba mine in Mariana and the Itabira mines. He coordinated the institutional group of water resources, working to rationalize the use of water in the company’s operational units, in addition to requesting and monitoring grants. He represented the company on a river basin committee, with direct involvement in legal issues related to water use.

MAURO PRADO, M.Sc., FGS
Hydrogeologist

Geologist graduated from the University of São Paulo, with a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia, England. He specializes in hydrogeology, water supply, water resource management and mathematical modeling of the flow and transport of contaminants in groundwater. His areas of expertise include hydrogeology applied to mining projects, regional assessments of underground water resources, prospecting of water resources, project management and characterization of contaminated sites. Other areas of experience and interest include drilling and completing tubular wells and wells for dissolving salt, protecting aquifers and hydrogeological aspects related to oil and gas production. Mauro is an instructor in courses in mathematical modeling and interpretation of aquifer tests offered by Water Services and Technologies.

RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE, M.Sc.
Hydrogeochemical | Hydrogeologist

Geologist graduated from Acadia University, with a master’s degree in geology focused on hydrogeochemistry from Simon Fraser University, Canada. He has 10 years of experience in hydrogeology and hydrogeochemistry projects, having worked in works related to mining, regional aquifers, natural and anthropic occurrence of metals and other solutes in groundwater, and the use of hydrogeochemical and isotopic parameters in hydrogeological studies. He has solid experience in conceptual and numerical modeling of flow and transport. He received an award from the Geological Society of America for the quality and relevance of his master’s research, related to the mobilization of metals in groundwater. He is a member of the Water Services and Technologies consulting team, and also regularly teaches courses and webinars on numerical modeling, hydrogeochemical data analysis and interpretation of pumping tests.

FERNANDO ZULIAN
Geologist | Commercial director

Geologist graduated from Universidade Estadual Paulista, Fernando Zulian has more than 30 years of experience in well drilling and consulting, covering project and operations management, acquisitions and due diligence, and business development. Working mainly in the mining, water supply and oil and gas industries, Fernando has managed from small projects to projects worth US $ 35 million. The projects involved drilling vertical and directional wells for the lowering of the water table and water supply, geological and hydrogeological characterization through geophysics, environmental monitoring, in addition to the implementation and operation of water and effluent treatment systems. His international experience includes services in countries like Brazil, United States of America, Mexico, Argentina, Australia and Colombia. As a guest professor, he taught classes on drilling techniques at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), in addition to serving as an adviser to the Board of Water Resources of the Federation of Industries of Rio de Janeiro (FIRJAN), in the Reuse Committee of the Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (ABES / RJ) and guest member of the Business Council for the Environment and Sustainability of the Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro ( ACRJ). He is currently Commercial Director of Water Services and Technologies where he also serves as a Geologist and Drilling Project Manager.
