Water Services and Technologies presented 10/02 the free webinar of the WST Series of Webinars. Bring your snack and enjoy lunch time to learn, through a practical case study, how to assist in the management of water resources in an area of complex geology. The project, to be presented by the hydrogeologist / hydrogeochemist Rafael Cavalcanti de Albuquerque, comprises the Serra da Moeda area, Quadrilátero Ferrífero, MG, and several combined techniques were used: a detailed survey of structural geology, isotopes, hydrochemical data, geological modeling intrinsic with Leapfrog, numerical modeling with FEFLOW, in addition to data on levels and flows in springs and rivers. The result was the development of a complete conceptual model of regional hydrogeology and a numerical model that allows to simulate different scenarios of recharge and exploration of groundwater, and to evaluate its impact on the springs and flow of local rivers.
