Workshop on Water Resources Management in Mining brings together more than 30 companies in Belo Horizonte

More than 90 professionals representing 30 companies from the mining sector and environmental agencies took part in the Workshop on Water Resources Management in Mining. The event took place on May 7 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

This is an essential discussion forum on the challenges and solutions for the effective and sustainable management of water resources in the mining industry.

The event is a unique opportunity to share valuable insights and promote collaboration between experts in the field. In addition to Water Services and Technologies’ innovative solutions, we had presentations from mining companies such as Vale, Alcoa and Gerdau.

We greatly appreciate the contribution and participation of speakers Halisson Borges, Thaiza Couto Bissacot and Matheus Serri Moulin de Oliveira.

We would also like to highlight the illustrious presence of the Secretary for the Environment and Sustainable Development of Minas Gerais, MarΓ­lia Carvalho de Melo, whose lecture provided crucial insights into the current and future scenario of water management in the state, as well as the role of the mining industry in this context.

The event also discussed key topics such as tailings, effluent and water quality management, a case study of Gerdau’s operational water balance, data governance for proactive management, water security for business continuity and numerical modeling in water resources management.
