This Free Webinar presented by the hydrogeologist Mauro Prado will show the results of a Water Services and Technologies study, in partnership with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Bahian Water and Sanitation Company (Embasa), which consisted in a hydrogeological and hydrogeochemical characterization, making possible to quantify the groundwater available to supply cities located in the region.

Mauro Prado is a geologist with an MSc in environmental sciences and specialized in hydrogeology, having worked in numerous consulting projects for the mining, beverage and oil& gas industries, as well as water supply assessments for the public sector. In his 20 years of graduate experience Mauro has worked on the prospecting and management of surface and groundwater resources, mine dewatering, hydrology, environmental site assessments, numerical modeling and data management. His professional experience includes project work in several South American countries, Canada, UK, Australia, Papua New Guinea, among others. His areas of expertise include the characterization of aquifer systems and quantification of surface and groundwater resources, prospecting of water resources for both commercial and industrial supply, the interaction between surface water and groundwater, open cast and underground mine dewatering, numerical modeling for groundwater flow and contaminant transport. Besides technical project work he is frequently required to provide training courses on numerical modeling and aquifer testing, using Visual Modflow and AquiferTest. Mauro is currently a partner at Water Services & Technologies, directly involved in technical projects for clients, as well as workshops and training courses provided by the company.
