During free event, experts will discuss flow modeling and reactive transport coupling PHREEQC in Feflow

Water Services and Technologies will be holding another free webinar on October 11 at 12 noon.

This time, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about ‘Reactive flow and transport modeling: coupling PHREEQC with FEFLOW’.

The event will be broadcast live online.Β

Numerical modeler Juan Huang and geochemist Lara Lange will jointly present the webinar, exploring reactive transport modeling, an innovative approach especially in mining problems, and how coupling PHREEQC software with FEFLOW can ensure increasingly accurate simulations.

“Modeling is essential to understand the chemical reactions in hydrogeological media and how this can impact on the quality of effluents. The precipitation of secondary minerals in critical structures, for example, can lead to the clogging of drains, a common problem in the mining industry,” say the experts.

In this webinar, through case studies and detailed analysis, Water Services and Technologies will show how this advanced approach can raise the quality of environmental decision-making in mining.

About the topic – Reactive transport modeling can be applied in various fields, including mining. It allows for the prediction and accurate description of how chemical species behave in systems in which reactions occur, while there is also flow transport.

In addition, modeling allows us to understand how chemical reactions affect the distribution and concentration of chemical substances and how they will be transported underground.
