Project Description

Our project focused on developing a sophisticated numerical model to simulate remediation measures for a metal plume originating from a tailings dam. Utilizing the piChem code, we simulated metal precipitation resulting from mineral saturation and equilibrium thermodynamics, triggered by the injection of a solution into the aquifer.

The resulting model provided precise estimations on the duration required for the remediation program to reduce metal concentrations to natural background levels. This innovative approach not only showcases our expertise in advanced modeling techniques but also demonstrates our commitment to effective environmental management.

Our work was honored with a selection for presentation at the prestigious FEFLOW Conference, underscoring its significance and the cutting-edge nature of our solutions.
