Water Services and Technologies celebrates World Water Day

On World Water Day, we remember the commitment we have as a society to the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN.

Of the 17 SDGs set for 2030, water plays a significant role in practically all of them.

At the same time, there is a growing need to structure actions to achieve resilience due to climate change. We therefore share an illustrative study carried out by Water Services and Technologies in collaboration with Coca-Cola FEMSA Brazil.

This study entitled ‘Strategic Water Resources Assessment for the FEMSA Industrial Unit in Porto Alegre, RS’, conducted in partnership with Coca-Cola FEMSA Brasil, aims to provide detailed projections on water availability, considering surface and underground sources, in a regional approach.

This analysis aimed to identify patterns and trends of water scarcity or surplus, based on rigorous technical and regulatory assessments.

According to the hydrogeology manager at Water Services and Technologies, Lucas Salles, the project laid a solid foundation for efficient water management at the unit, promoting environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Coca-Cola FEMSA Brasil also identified potential risks of water scarcity and conflicts over water use, especially in the GravataΓ and Sinos river basins in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

“We then highlight the importance of innovative water management solutions, highlighting products and services that encourage the efficient use of water and resilience to climate change,” says Salles.

We invite our readers to join us on this journey, adopting practices that ensure operational water security and compliance with ESG objectives, while promoting resilience in the face of climate change.
